Sulfur in Fuel
Rapid Analysis of Sulfur in Crude, Diesel, Heavies, and Bunker Fuel
Sulfur in Distillates, Diesel, Heavies, Crude, and Marine Fuel
The affordable Rigaku NEX QC benchtop EDXRF delivers compliance with the ASTM D4294 sulfur method (also methods ISO 20847, ISO 8754, IP 496, IP 336, and JIS K 2541-4) with an easy-to-learn software interface in a robust package specifically designed for the petroleum industry. Optimized for routine determination of sulfur in petroleum (including crudes, heavies, bunker fuel, and upgrading operations), the NEX QC features a modern icon-driven touchscreen interface for intuitive operation and a built-in thermal printer for convenience. In addition, the Rigaku NEX QC+ instrument delivers compliance with the ISO 13032 sulfur method for ULSD, and the NEX CG II benchtop EDXRF is compliant with the ASTM D7220 method for ULSD.

Analyze Sulfur & Other Elements
All Rigaku EDXRF systems are multi-element analyzers. For example, NEX QC is capable of measuring more than just sulfur. Multi-element analysis is important for detecting crude oil contamination or adulteration by the presence of salt and other chlorine-bearing compounds. Left undetected, the presence of chlorine can bias the sulfur reading high and potentially leave the presence of chlorine unnoticed. NEX QC can detect chlorine and other elements and correct for the presence of chlorine (so it does not bias the sulfur reading).
On-line, Real-time Process Sulfur Gauge
For on-line analysis needs, the Rigaku NEX XT delivers real-time X-ray transmission (XRT) measurements of sulfur for crude, bunker fuel, fuel oils, and other highly viscous hydrocarbons, including residuums. NEX XT offers complete sulfur analysis for refineries, pipelines, blending operations, bunkering terminals, and other storage facilities.
NEX XT provides continuous monitoring of sulfur at pressures up to 1480 psig and up to 200&C in custom configurations. NEX XT operates as a standalone analyzer or provides real-time closed-loop control when tied into a blending or plant-wide automation system.
